What it does

01

Client Rates, shown as receipts

A rate card is the price list for one service from one client, for one origin or any origin, laid out as a receipt: price brackets up to so many minutes, the price of each extra block, report brackets in minutes of report, valid dates and currency. A booking takes the longest bracket that fits its length.

  • A new card prices bookings from its own date forward
  • Apply period re-prices a chosen date range and says how many bookings changed

02

Client Invoices

Generate invoices for a period and a client, or for every client with something to bill. The preview shows what will be billed and what is left out, with the reason. A booking already on an invoice is never billed twice. A draft can still change; an issued invoice is fixed, and only a credit note reverses it.

  • View bookings or view every billed line
  • An issued invoice keeps the layout it was issued on

Finance · Currency Rates

Rates can be fetched automatically or typed in; rates typed by hand are left alone.

Switch on the automatic fetch in Settings and NDMX records each day's rates from a source your company chooses, dated by your company's own calendar. Or type the rates in yourself. Fetch rates now fetches them at any hour.

  • FETCHEDRecorded by the automatic fetch.
  • BY HANDTyped by someone in finance. The fetch leaves it alone until they press Back to the feed.
  • No rateA currency without a rate says so. NDMX never guesses a figure.

A new rate never overwrites an old one, so September's invoices keep September's rates. Every converted figure names its base currency, to two or three decimals, as your company chooses.

Running Total, saved as a document

A running total counts services for a period and a set of criteria. It carries no money, so anyone who works with bookings can use it. Preview it by client, name it and save it. Once saved, its lines never change, even if the bookings do.

  • The booking desk and the newsroom keep their own running totals
  • Include daily decides whether bookings not yet archived are counted
Running Total · a month of services, saved, with no money on it
04

Ledger: a day read as money

The Ledger reads one day's bookings as money: billed, cost and margin. A dash in the margin means the charge and the cost are in different currencies, so no margin is shown until one is converted.

  • The Ledger is for reading; a charge is changed on the booking
  • People without money rights see the day without amounts

05

The log: every change to money

Every change to a booking's money is written to its finance log, with who, when, and the value before and after. The log opens from the Booking desk's ribbon, and nothing in it can be edited.

  • The service log beside it records every other change
  • The Activity register reads both
