Running order

The dashboard is the first page after sign-in: the day as a running order that answers one question. Is the next booking ready? Master Control puts the same day on the control-room wall.

What it does

01

Dashboard: the day as a running order

The day's services are grouped by where they stand: on air now, next and later, with the present moment marked. Choose today, tomorrow or the week. The page refreshes itself and shows when it last did.

  • New Booking and Advanced Search sit on the same ribbon
  • Signing in returns you to your last page; the dashboard is only the very first start

Three readiness marks per booking

Each row carries three marks: Provider, when every provider has confirmed; Space, when the space is clear; and Fields, when every required field is filled. A mark that is not yet green says what is missing and opens the booking to fix it.

  • The marks read the same rules as the booking desk
  • An in-house provider never waits for its own confirmation

The week ahead and the Ready meters

A side column shows the week ahead as a bar per day, a Ready meter for today, and the waiting work of the other departments each person covers.

  • Waiting work links straight to the page that clears it

Master Control: the wall for the control room

Master Control is the wall screen, read from across a room: a dark display with the on-air chips and the clock, counters for the day's services (upcoming, on air, next, completed and cancelled), and every service in time order as the Now line moves down the list. It carries no financial figure at all.

  • Time, reference, client, service, resource, reporter and status; origin, provider, programme and IFB can be switched on
  • Each person keeps their own columns, rows and text size
  • It refreshes itself every twenty seconds, without reloading

No money on master control's screens

Each page shows only what the person may see. Master control sees the running order, the wall and the statuses it may set, and no financial figure anywhere. A person without bookings access sees only their own waiting work.

  • What each role sees is set on the role's Permissions tab

Set Status in one tap, on a phone

On a phone, a booking opens on its own screen, and Set Status raises the statuses this person may set, each in its colour. One tap, and the desk sees the change.

  • The same statuses and permissions as on the desk
